"Saturation Day for the Bundesvision Comedy Contest on ProSeven: Comedian Kawus Kalantar to represent Bremen"
The Bundesvision Comedy Contest (BuViCoCo) is set to premiere on ProSieben on September 28 at 8:15 PM, featuring 16 rising stars of the German comedy scene.
Representing Lower Saxony in this nationwide competition is Sven Bensmann, while Hendrik Brehmer will be competing for Saxony-Anhalt. Claudius Pläging is representing Hesse, and Jochen Prang will be representing Saarland.
In Baden-Württemberg, the federal state's team is led by comedian Kawus Kalantar, who was born in Bremen in 1990 to Iranian parents. Kawus grew up in the district of Vahr and attended schools in the city, including the school at Witzlebenstraße, which has since become the title of his current comedy program.
Kawus Kalantar's rise in the comedy world has been meteoric. In 2021, he was awarded the German Comedypreis as best newcomer. He has already performed a humor sample on ARD Stand-Up on June 3, 2024.
Also competing for Germany's federal states are Helene Bockhorst for Rhineland-Palatinate, Tenderness with Friends for Saxony, Laura Brümmer for North Rhine-Westphalia, Teresa Reichl for Bavaria, Stefan Danziger for Berlin, Miss Allie for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Hinnerk Köhn for Hamburg, Maria Clara Groppler for Brandenburg, Benni Stark for Schleswig-Holstein, and Jonas Greiner for Thuringia.
