Saskatchewan’s Charitable Gaming Grants Top $2.2M in Latest Funding Round

Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) has distributed CAD $2.2 million in charitable gaming grants for the second quarter of 2025-26. This figure marks a slight drop from the $2.49 million handed out in the previous quarter. The funding supports over 1,000 community groups across the province in areas like sports, culture, and healthcare.

The grants are funded by earnings from Saskatchewan’s gaming sector, including VLTs, casinos, lotteries, and online platforms like PlayNow.com. Each grant equals 25% of the net revenue raised by licensed charitable events, such as bingo, raffles, and poker tournaments. However, no single organisation can receive more than $100,000 per year.

The latest round of grants brings the total distributed in the first half of 2025-26 to nearly $4.7 million. Communities will use the funds to maintain and expand their programs. LGS will continue processing applications for future quarters based on gaming revenue and submitted reports.
