In the world of sports, a 15U Selects baseball team from Team Saskatchewan had a close call with missing the Ray Carter Cup in Prince Edward Island. However, thanks to the selfless efforts of the parents and a unique solution proposed by one of them, the team was able to make it to the tournament. The parents collaborated to find a solution, and the idea to transfer the flights of the team from another airline to the children came from WestJet itself. Team parent Trevor Weir mentioned that 18 or 19 family members were flying out on WestJet, making the number of flights needed to transport the players and coaching staff the exact number of WestJet flights occupied by the team's family members.

For some of the mothers, sending their 14- and 15-year-old boys to Prince Edward Island for the first time may have been a nerve-wracking experience. But the trip is expected to be an "awesome experience" for the players, according to the team's optimistic outlook.

Moving on to business matters, it was revealed that 1.4 million Canadians missed a credit payment in the 2nd quarter. Meanwhile, Air Canada is resuming operations at Saskatchewan's major airports, with flights set to ramp up as the strike ends and the airline resumes operations.

In political news, there is a debate about whether Canada can afford Carney's new NATO defence spending pledge. On a brighter note, Canada Post and the union have agreed to resume bargaining talks, potentially averting a postal strike.

Lastly, Canadians will not see a price increase for the weight-loss drug Mounjaro despite a hike in the U.K. Unfortunately, hateful conduct reports in the Canadian military have been rising after years of decline, indicating a concerning trend that requires attention.
