Saronic Technologies secures $1.75B to revolutionize AI-driven maritime systems

Saronic Technologies has secured $1.75 billion in Series D funding, pushing its valuation to $9.25 billion. The company, which specialises in AI-driven maritime systems, announced the deal on 31 March 2026. The investment will fuel expansion across shipbuilding and global operations. The funding round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with contributions from Advent, Bessemer Venture Partners, DFJ Growth, BAM Elevate, and Andreessen Horowitz. This latest injection follows a $600 million Series C round in 2025, marking a significant increase in investor confidence.

Saronic plans to use the capital to grow its shipbuilding infrastructure, particularly in Texas and Louisiana. A key project, Port Alpha, will anchor this expansion. The company's shipyard in Franklin, Louisiana, is set to create around 1,500 jobs as operations scale up.

By 2027, the firm aims to produce over 20 autonomous vessels each year. Its technology targets both defence and commercial maritime applications. Alongside shipbuilding, Saronic has broadened its operational reach, establishing hubs in San Diego, Washington, D.C., the UK, and Australia. The funding will accelerate Saronic's production and global presence. With no confirmed government contracts yet, the company's growth hinges on private investment and commercial demand. Expansion in Louisiana and Texas is expected to bring new jobs and infrastructure to the region.
