Third-ranked Kabayan Food triumphed in all their matches during the Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League's 9th Season finale, even defeating No. 1 Boleros twice to secure the title at Bowling City, located within Sultanah Center, here. Title: Kabayan Food Claims Championship in Sarawat Superstores Thursday Bowling League

Kicking off the 9th Season with a bang, third-seeded Kabayan Food emerged victorious, defeating perennial powerhouse Boleros in the intense stepladder final at Sultanah Center's Bowling City.

Earning a twice-to-beat privilege, Kabayan Food displayed a harmonious team dynamic, with standout performances from its players that complemented each other. Eidris Mangoda led the charge with a powerful 223, backed by Gerry Mandanas' 178 and Igna Salgado's 174, while Paolo Allego and Rene Martinez contributed impressive 162s.

Their performance was too much for Boleros to handle in the first game, as Kabayan Food breezed to a 932-886 victory. The impressive win left Boleros reeling, setting the stage for a winner-take-all showdown that ended 939-865 in favor of the eventual champions.

Mangoda and Allego continued their dominance, tallying games of 213 and 203, respectively. Rene Martinez added 169, Salgado netted 168, and Mandanas contributed a solid 153. Despite their best efforts, Boleros failed to bonus in a single 200 game, with Elo Manalo's 181 in the second game being the highest on their scoreboard.

The road to the championship was a challenging one for Kabayan Food. They faced off against Bowling City, Habagat, and OFBC in the opening round of the stepladder, securing a thrilling sudden death victory over Bowling City (890-842-836) to advance to the next round. Then, they bested second-seeded D' Barkads (1,059-968) before claiming the title from Boleros.

Preparations are already underway for the Thursday League's 10th Season, set to commence today. Organizer Igna Salgado shared the latest team standings, which placed Kabayan Food as the champions, Boleros as the first runner-up, D' Barkads as the second runner-up, Bowling City in fourth place, Habagat in fifth, Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club in sixth, Thumbs-up Reload in seventh, and Escalera V in eighth.
