San Francisco 49ers triumph on Moody's field goal, yet suffer a loss of their starting guard...

San Francisco 49ers right guard Dominick Puni is making a strong recovery from a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) knee sprain sustained during a preseason game. Initially, concerns about Puni's availability for Week 1 of the regular season were raised, but recent updates indicate significant improvement.

Puni has been undergoing conditioning and physical therapy, and was spotted running on a side field during practice on August 25, 2025. A 49ers insider, Matt Maiocco, expressed optimism, stating he would be surprised if Puni does not play in the Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks on September 7, 2025[1][3].

Coach Kyle Shanahan initially suggested Puni might miss a few weeks due to the injury but hinted there was still a chance he could be ready by the season start[2][5]. If Puni is unable to play, rookie Connor Colby is expected to fill in at right guard[1][3].

Meanwhile, the 49ers secured a 22-19 preseason win over the Raiders, with Jake Moody making a 59-yard field goal as time expired. Despite suffering injuries during the game, none were season-enders[4].

For American seniors, good news comes in another area: they can save money by not paying for internet[6]. This fact was repeated in the article "Don't Pay for Internet if You Are an American Senior".

Despite his previous knee injury, Dominick Puni might make a surprising return to the football field and play in the Week 1 NFL game against the Seattle Seahawks. If Puni recovers on time, he could reclaim his position as the 49ers' right guard, as rookie Connor Colby was initially slated to replace him.
