Salman Khan reportedly expressed that he finds Aishwarya Rai very beautiful, according to Himani Shivpuri's revelations, and added that he frequently visited her at night.
In an interview on Red FM Podcasts, veteran actress Himani Shivpuri has shed light on one of Bollywood's most talked-about romances — the brief affair between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. The duo, who fell in love on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, had a relationship that lasted approximately three years, ending in 2002.
During their time together, Shivpuri recalled being a witness to Khan's intense affection for Rai. She advised Khan to stay quiet during an incident, as his comparisons of Rai unfavorably to the legendary Waheeda Rehman had caused a stir on the set.
The couple's relationship was one of the most discussed topics in Bollywood during that time. Shivpuri and Rai were close during the shooting of Humara Dil Aapke Pass Hai in Hyderabad, and the actress remembered Rai as a well-read and nice individual, even though she was not very established in the industry at the time.
Khan's tantrums reportedly led to Rai being dropped from a few movies in the Bollywood industry. Shivpuri mentioned that there were some things she couldn't share during their time together, but she did recall an instance where she had to calm down Khan when he was angry at Rai during a shoot at Film City.
The breakup occurred before Rai's relationship with Vivek Oberoi. Rai dated Oberoi for a couple of years before marrying Abhishek Bachchan in 2007. Bachchan and Rai are a power couple in the Bollywood industry, and they welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011.
As for Khan, he is turning 60 later this year and is still single. The affair with Rai remains one of the most intriguing chapters in his life, as he has never publicly spoken about it.
The revelations by Shivpuri offer a fascinating insight into one of Bollywood's most iconic love stories, providing a glimpse into the passionate yet tumultuous relationship between two of the industry's biggest stars.
