Sakha’s Unity Day honors heroes of peace, charity, and public service

Sakha’s Unity Day honors heroes of peace, charity, and public service

The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) recently held a grand celebration honouring citizens who have made significant contributions to the region. The event, themed 'All TOGETHER', 'For the Glory of the Motherland', and 'Russia—This Is US!', was a cultural extravaganza marking Unity Day.

State awards were presented to individuals who have strengthened peace and friendship among peoples, and those who have contributed to charity and public service. Lyubov Viktorovna Khristoforova, a Labor Veteran and Honored Civil Servant, received the distinction 'Civic Valor'. Similarly, Dina Konstantinovna Okhlopkova, Executive Secretary of the Public Organization of Veterans, was also honoured with the same distinction.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of Russian Federation passports to ten outstanding students from Yakutsk and the republic’s districts. This marked a significant milestone in their academic journey and a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Vasily Innokentievich Sorokoumov, an Honored Worker of the National Economy, and Anton Vladimirovich Sokolov, Deputy Head of the Federal State Institution Vilyuy Highway Management, were recognised for their contributions. Sorokoumov received the honorary badge 'For Strengthening Peace and Friendship Among Peoples', while Sokolov was awarded a Certificate of Commendation from the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Alexander Tarasovich Nikiforov, a philanthropist and General Director of KopirTekhServis LLC, was honoured with the badge 'Amarakh Surekh' ('For Goodwill and Charity').

The festive concert 'Praising Friendship! Peace! Russia!' held at the House of Peoples’ Friendship named after A.E. Kulakovsky, brought together the diverse cultures of the region, celebrating unity and harmony. The recipients of the awards and distinctions serve as an inspiration, embodying the spirit of service, charity, and dedication to the region.
