In a grand display of tradition and skill, the stage was set for a shooting extravaganza, with the new monarch's wife, Jennifer, standing by his side. She, a seasoned veteran in this world, previously graced the Karnevalsgesellschaft Blau-Weiß as a member and was crowned the Ehrenköönigin of the Bruderschaft. Marcel Hermes, the commander of the Blauen Husaren, held the Major role in the Büdicher Husarenzug, and professionally, he's a technical customer advisor.

The young guns also boasted a new queen, Laura Kuhlmann of the Bundesschützenfanfarenkorps Büdrich 1968. At 21, she's a city inspector trainee, juggling important exams before the shooting festival. Nicole Niederdellmann-Siemes emerged victorious in the competition for the position of Ehrenköönigin.

The competition saw several other impressive performances. Sven Tenten, head of Jägerlust, and Christina Höfling, right wing of Eintracht, were standouts, alongside Benedikt Lennartz, left wing of Grüne Husaren, Justin Wegener, tail of Grüne Husaren, and Miriam John, body of BFC 1968.

Among the young shooters, Luis Heft (head, Hubertuskompanie), Fabian Blombach (right wing, Hubertuskompanie), Katharina Handske (left wing, BFC 1968), and Greta Knops (tail, Matrosencorps) caught the eye with their decisive hits.

The venerable Herbert Görke, a gold jubilarian from the Gesellschaft Jägerlust, was victorious in the left wing of the Ehrenvogel. The right wing and head went to none other than the outgoing ministers, Michael Bodewig and Hans-Peter Vieten. The tail and body were won by councilwoman Nicole Niederdellmann-Siemes.

During this event, the St. Sebastianus-Bruderschaft inaugurated the "Börker" shooting tree, a new landmark on the Dr.-Franz-Schütz-Platz, adorned with 38 coat-of-arms shields. This tree, planned, financed, and implemented by the crossbow shooters over three and a half years, was a testament to their celebration of their 100th anniversary.

In these traditional shooting events, titles like "Ehrenköönigin" and "Ehrenvogel" might be bestowed upon participants. These honorary titles symbolize recognition of the best shooters or participants in the event, similar to crowning a queen or a bird of honor.

Sports, with its competitive spirit, was evident even among the participants of the shooting festival. Several of them, such as Laura Kuhlmann, Sven Tenten, Christina Hoefling, Benedikt Lennartz, Justin Wegener, Miriam John, Luis Heft, Fabian Blombach, Katharina Handske, Greta Knops, and Nicole Niederdellmann-Siemes, showcased their skills and precision in their respective roles.
