Music lovers in Mönchengladbach are in for a treat this September and October as the city hosts a series of organ concerts and events.

Kicking off the season is Dariia Lytvishko, a renowned German-Ukrainian organist, who will perform at St. Laurentius Church, Odenkirchen on September 5th at 7:30 PM. Tickets for the concert, priced at 10 Euros, will be available at the box office, which opens at 6:45 PM. Lytvishko's performance promises to be a captivating one, with interpretations of Star Wars melodies on the Rensch organ.

On September 21st, St. Laurentius Church, Odenkirchen, will host 'Organ by Bike,' an event that invites participants to explore the organ landscape of the southern Gladbach region by bicycle. Those interested can register for the event by emailing Kantorin Borkenfeld-Mueller or visiting the parish office of St. Laurentius.

The Mönchengladbach choir project, the Gladbacher Chamber Philharmonic, and soloists will participate in the final concert under the direction of Stephanie Borkenfeld-Mueller. The concert program will include Felix Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 2 'Lobgesang' and Psalm 42, as well as an overture in C major by Fanny Hensel. The concert, titled 'Organ - The Queen of Instruments,' will feature organ works by Louis Vierne, Maurice Duruflé, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, among others. The final concert on October 5th at 4 PM will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Mönchengladbach choir project.

On September 26th, Luciano Zecca from Lecco, Italy, will perform organ works at St. Laurentius Church. The concert will feature organ works from symphony and opera by Italian composers, Edward Elgar, and Percy Fletcher.

In addition to these concerts, organ builders Friedhelm Bruns, Katrin Ebbinghaus, and Klemens Röslers will share their insights about the fascinating world of the organ. Bruns will hold sessions at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:30 AM on September 16th in St. Laurentius Church, Odenkirchen. Ebbinghaus and Röslers will present the organs in their respective churches as part of related activities.

All concerts at St. Laurentius Church will be transmitted via video camera onto a screen in the church, ensuring that every attendee has a clear view of the performances. Admission to Friedhelm Bruns' explanation of the organ world is free, making it an accessible event for all music enthusiasts.
