Sailings on "Sea Mile" scheduled for Gelendzhik have been pushed back to August 3 due to adverse weather conditions.
The swimming event in Krasnodar Krai has been rescheduled for tomorrow, August 3, according to event organizers. The change in date was made due to a message from EMERCOM about strengthening winds, a storm warning, and a ban on going out to sea.
The event, which attracts participants from across Russia, will begin with the Double Mile event at 8:50. The 200m event will follow at 13:00, and the 1km event will start at 14:00. Chips and buoys will be issued for participants in the 200m and 1km distances at 12:00, and for the Sea and Double Mile at 6:00.
The starting area will open at 6:00, and the event will be free for participants. Last year, the event saw a record-breaking number of participants, with 1,920 swimmers. However, due to the lack of specific information, we cannot confirm the number of participants for the 2020 event.
Swimmers came from 159 cities in Russia last year, making it a truly national event. The Krasnodar Krai Sports Development Center has reported improved weather conditions, but the previous EMERCOM message about the storm warning remains in effect.
For the latest updates and more information about the event, we recommend checking the official Krasnodar Krai sports or swimming federation reports or news archives. Stay safe and we hope to see you at the event!
Despite the storm warning from EMERCOM, the swimming event in Krasnodar Krai, originally scheduled for today, has been rescheduled for tomorrow. Due to the weather concerns, the organizing sports committee decided to postpone the sports activities until the weather improves.
