During her prolonged stay, Veit was forced to seek shelter multiple times. "Of course, there's a certain tension when you take cover in a shelter, knowing that the impacts nearby are all too real," she confessed. Regardless, she stressed, emotions must not be allowed to cloud her judgement.

Through a warning app much like Germany's Nina or Katwarn, all citizens receive a warning in the event of a rocket alert. Usually, ten minutes later, the actual alert is issued. "And then they have 90 seconds to find shelter," Veit explained. The proceedings are meticulously arranged, with no one disregarding the warning.
