Safaricom My OneApp unites M-Pesa and telecom services in one platform

Safaricom PLC has launched a new app designed to bring mobile money and telecom services together in one place. Called Safaricom My OneApp, the platform merges the existing M-Pesa and MySafaricom apps into a single interface. Early access is now open to Android users, with iOS support planned for later. The new app will serve a combined user base of 9.5 million, offering a streamlined experience for frequent tasks. It will also host mini-apps, allowing users to complete more actions without leaving the interface. Over time, the platform will adapt to individual habits, prioritising commonly used features for a more personalised feel.

Safaricom is testing voice-based interactions as another way to navigate and complete tasks within the app. Currently, feedback from early testers is being gathered to improve functionality before a full rollout. The company aims to expand the app's capabilities as more services are added in the future.

Safaricom My OneApp marks a shift toward a unified digital experience for millions of users. The platform's personalisation and mini-app features could change how customers interact with mobile money and telecom services. Wider availability will follow after the current testing phase.
