Former German International Footballer Frank Mill Passes Away at 67

Frank Mill, a renowned figure in German football, has passed away at the age of 67 due to complications from a heart attack he suffered in May.

The tragic incident occurred at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy, where Mill had arrived to participate in a documentary about Germany's 1990 World Cup victory. Despite being resuscitated after several minutes without vital signs and placed in an induced coma, he never recovered and passed away about 10 weeks later in early August.

Mill, who hailed from Essen, began his professional career with Rot-Weiss Essen, before moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach and then Borussia Dortmund. He also played for Fortuna Düsseldorf during his illustrious career.

Mill's footballing achievements were not limited to his club career. He was part of West Germany’s squad that won the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy, although he did not play in the tournament matches and served mainly as a backup striker. He also earned 17 caps for the West German national team and won a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

In total, Mill scored 201 goals in 506 club matches, a testament to his prolific scoring ability. He was widely respected in German football and regarded as one of the greatest players from Rot-Weiss Essen, as well as an ambassador for football in Germany.

As of now, no information has been provided about the funeral arrangements for Frank Mill. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
