Sacred Heart-Ateneo quintets claim victory
Sacred Heart School (SHS) Dominates Cebu Inter-School Alumni Invitational Tournament 2025
Sacred Heart School (SHS) has made a strong impression in the Cebu Inter-School Alumni Invitational Tournament 2025, securing multiple division victories. One of their most notable wins was in the 30-above division, where SHS-Ateneo de Cebu defeated Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) with a score of 81-70.
In this game, Elddie Cabahug shone with 23 points, six assists, and two steals, while Ervin Lopena chipped in 17 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Former PBA player Joel Co added 18 points to the team's tally.
Meanwhile, DBTC bounced back in the 40-above division with an impressive 88-70 win over UC, thanks to Dondon Hontiveros who scored 31 points.
In another 40-above division game, SHS-Ateneo de Cebu defeated Cebu Eastern College (CEC) with a score of 69-56. Allan Ting led CEC with 15 points, and Donald Ting added 12. Sergs Al Go Bui and Andrew Po contributed 10 points each for SHS-Ateneo de Cebu.
UC also had a successful run, scoring another win in the 30-above class, defeating University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors with a score of 91-75. Rommel Ryan Luceno led UC with 14 points in the game against USC Warriors.
The 29-under category saw some intense competition. UC Webmasters defeated SHS-AdC Magis with a score of 114-103, but SHS-AdC Lux Oriens managed to secure a win against DBTC with RJ Dacalos' impressive performance of 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
In a different 29-under game, Christian Talon scored 22 points for UC Webmasters, while Stanley Hapin scored 11 points for DBTC in a different game. Alje Mendez added 15 points in a different game for DBTC, and Xander Magbanua added 16 points, and Mitch Ivan Almodal scored 13 in the game between SHS-AdC Lux Oriens and DBTC.
DBTC's JZ Dizon scored 19 points in a separate game, and Afshin Ghassemi scored 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, and made one steal in the game against CEC.
RJ Dacalos, a basketball player who represented SHS-AdC Lux Oriens during the tournament, also made his mark with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the Under-29 category.
