Sabrina Carpenter unveils her new upbeat tune titled 'Manchild', perfect for the sunny season.
In a year chock-full of chart toppers, Grammy wins, and globetrotting tours, Sabrina Carpenter's not slacking off on new tunes. The singing sensation behind "Espresso" has teamed up with producing whiz Jack Antonoff again, and their latest joint effort, "Man-child," is now available.
"Man-child / Why you always come a-running to me? / Fuck my life / Won't you let an innocent woman be? / Never heard of self-care / Half your brain just ain't there / Man-child / Why you always come a-running, taking all my loving from me?" Carpenter belts out on this upbeat pop track.
"Short n' Sweet" hasn't stopped Carpenter in her tracks. Although it was her sixth studio album, she told Vogue in a March cover story that this 2025 album, her first with Island Records, was her "first big-girl album."
Post-Disney Channel days, Carpenter's embraced her raw, unfiltered self. She's unafraid of coming off crass or provocative, and she's keeping that authenticity going strong. The woman we see on stage is the same one behind the curtain.
Carpenter's latest opus was a natural progression for her. With her album creation, she was determined to stay true to herself.
"Short n' Sweet" truly represents Carpenter. As she put it, "There's no alter ego...It's definitely a more emphasized version of me."
The Short n' Sweet Tour wraps up on Nov. 23 in Los Angeles.
