Sabb's Shabab wins impressive Treble in Team of the Week accolades
Let's dive into the eighth week of the Interbank Tenpin Bowling League 2013 Conference! The reigning champions, Shabab SABB of Ahmed Qaquoush, snatched their third Team of the Week award and bumped up from fourth to second in the team standings. They took down Alinma Bank with an impressive score of 344-190, mirroring Alinma's three Team of the Week victories.
The star trio of Qarquoush, Jaffer Al Kathiri, and Arnold Jesena ignited the team spirit, scoring a whopping 804, 783, and 744 respectively. The remainder of the team, Francis Guron and Luis Bonguit, chipped in with 573 and 504, while Fahad Al Heza and Sam Alinsod contributed 161 and 140.
Alinma Bank managed to avoid a shutout by winning the fourth game, with Jojo de Silva, Obet Mata, and Lito Tolentino scoring 793, 767, and 747. Jerry Barce supported them with 462, and Angelo Train, Willie Bondoc, and Vic Aggregado rolled 398, 320, and 165.
SAMA-Abana Unified has kept the top spot for two weeks running, outmaneuvering former champ SHB 331-30 to secure their victory. Team captain Teody Zulaybar led the charge with a high series of 856, earning him the Bowler of the Week prize. Jun Bolocboloc and Jun Macarandan backed him up with scores of 718 and 710. Bernie Torres, Clem Guelas, and Ranier Torres added 518, 515, and 404, respectively.
SHB slid down to fourth place as their performance faltered heavily in all four games due to a lackluster performance by team captain Greg Antonio. Arnel Bernabe and Gerry Ayonon took the top scores for SHB with 770 and 673.
PNB Unified shone brightly this week, routing BSF-CBG 290-130 and managing to keep fourth place in the standings. Tenz Taeza and James Frizzle dominated with 780 and 726. Freddie Solomon, Mixi Lechiga, and Roland Garcia chipped in with 583, 558, and 509, respectively.
The fourth match between BSF and SAIB ended in a draw with each team scoring 130 points. Edwin Timango led the way for BSF with a magnificent 774, and Joseph Adao, Noel Morales, and captain Jun Bantug tallied 739, 711, and 676, respectively. Dawood Sereno and Ric Camara contributed 368 and 283 to the BSF total.
Mike Benito was the top scorer in SAIB with a remarkable 749 four-game series. Team captain Dong Calub, Ed Robillos, and Julius Queypo backed him up with 706, 656, and 596, respectively. Eddison Austria and Ric Cura added 500 and 132, respectively.
