Ryu maintains leading position at Black Desert Online Golf Tournament

Rewritten Article:

On Friday at the Black Desert Championship in Ivins, Utah, Haeran Ryu, hailing from South Korea, soared to a commanding lead, doubling her advantage to two strokes. Having blazed a trail with a sizzling 63 in the opening round, Ryu kept the pedal to the metal, wrapping up the day with a respectable 67, plunking her at 14-under-par 130.

Ryu's second-round prowess was a sight to behold, her precision on the fairways and greens a masterclass in consistency. She flawlessly found the fairway 13 out of 14 times and 16 out of 18 green in regulation, her only bogey coming at the third hole. But, she bounced back stronger than ever, birdieing holes 5 and 6 before sinking an eagle at the par-5 ninth.

Sharing the second spot at 11-under are South Korea's Soo Bin Joo, who carded a 68, and Germany's Esther Henseleit, who battled back from a bogey and a double bogey to shoot a commendable 68, fueled by seven birdies.

Henseleit, yet to taste victory on the LPGA Tour but boasting two Ladies European Tour titles, admitted she endured one bad swing that cost her a couple of shots. Despite that hiccup, she was pleased with her performance, especially managing to finish with three birdies on the back nine to salvage her score.

Not far behind are Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand and Taiwanese Hsu Wei-ling, tied for fifth at 10-under. The second round saw two players posting the low round of the day, a 7-under 65 - Japan's Hinako Shibuno, part of a cluster at 9-under, and Scotland's Gemma Dryburgh, who ascended to 8-under.

Shibuno's round was marked by a back-to-back eagle streak at the par-5 13th and par-4 14th. Dryburgh, needing to improve on her 71 from Thursday to qualify for the weekend, managed to achieve a score worthy of advancement thanks to nine birdies.

The cut fell at 3-under-par, eliminating the likes of A Lim Kim of South Korea, Nasa Hataoka of Japan, and American Allisen Corpuz from further competition.
