In the fifth season of the FX series Welcome to Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continue to make a significant impact in the community. One such example is their recent involvement in supporting a 13-year-old girl named Lexi Collins from Deeside in North Wales.

Lexi, who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of heart cancer in June 2025, has been battling the disease courageously. Her biggest wish is to visit New York City, a dream that seems to be within reach, thanks to the kindness and generosity of donors and the Wrexham Police FC.

The Wrexham Police FC, a team made up of off-duty cops playing soccer and raising charity funds, has been instrumental in helping Lexi's family with her wish to visit the Big Apple. The team's generous donation, along with an additional significant contribution from Ryan Reynolds, has helped the GoFundMe page surpass its initial £5,000 ($6,829) goal, raising a total of £13,670 ($18,682) as of now.

Ryan Reynolds, who is not only a co-owner of Wrexham AFC but also a friend of the Wrexham Police FC, donated UK£10,000 ($13,638) to help Lexi realise her dream. The Wrexham Police FC's social media page compared Reynolds to a superhero, referencing his character Deadpool's red and black suit, while praising his generosity.

Lexi and her family have been preparing for the trip, with Home Alone being one of the movies they watched together as part of their preparations. In an update on the GoFundMe page, Lexi's mother, Rebecca Collins, expressed her gratitude for the kindness and generosity shown by donors. She mentioned that Lexi wants to see various attractions in New York City, including Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, and Central Park.

As Lexi undergoes intensive chemotherapy, she continues to fight with the support of her family and the community. Her story serves as a reminder of the power of kindness, generosity, and community spirit in helping those in need.
