Russia's Yug Sport Complex Redefines Elite and Youth Athletic Training

Russia's Sports Minister and Krasnodar Region Governor Visit Multifunctional Training Center and Elite Sports Complex for National and Club Teams

The center's significance to Russia's sports industry is underscored by the fact that it was established on the instruction of President Vladimir Putin. The head of state has visited the facility multiple times, engaging with athletes and even participating in one of the training sessions. In 2025 alone, the center hosted 292 training camps for national teams and 140 competitions of various levels, involving over 17,500 athletes. The facility also has experience welcoming top international teams—most notably, Brazil's national football squad trained here during the 2018 World Cup, noted Mikhail Degtyarev.

Russia's Sports Minister expressed confidence that the Yug Sport training center would continue to grow and nurture future generations of champions.

"Behind every record and medal won by Russian athletes lies the dedication of coaches, medical staff, and all the specialists at Yug Sport. This state-of-the-art facility hosts training camps and competitions, preparing the country's strongest athletes—Olympians, Paralympians, and world and European champions—for their most important starts. Here, they reach new heights in sports and amaze the world. Young athletes also have the chance to train alongside them, learning from the best. Today, Yug Sport operates over 20 youth sports schools, where more than 2,000 young athletes from Sochi develop their skills. For an athlete, 20 years marks the peak of their career—a time of maximum potential on the path to great victories. And today, Yug Sport itself is young, ambitious, full of energy, and ready to scale new heights," emphasized Veniamin Kondratyev.

The complex features a sports and wellness center, a medical recovery facility, hydrothermal complexes, a skydiving center, two stadiums, a weightlifting center, a table tennis center, and a beach. All facilities are equipped with cutting-edge training and diagnostic equipment and fully comply with accessibility standards for people with disabilities.
