Russia's Top Young Wind Orchestras Gather for a Creative Camp and Festival

A creative camp for young wind musicians will run from March 26 to April 15, 2026, at the All-Russian Children's Center Orlyonok in Krasnodar Territory. Organised by the Russian Spiritual Society, the event aims to develop talent and strengthen professional ties among young performers across the country.

The camp operates under the Family national project, with backing from Russia's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education. Its programme features educational sessions, master classes, and rehearsals, all leading to the 6th All-Russian Festival-Competition of Children's Wind Orchestras, Strong in Spirit!

Three youth orchestras were chosen to take part: the M.I. Tabakov Children's Music School Concert Wind Orchestra from Moscow, Ogni Magnitki from Magnitogorsk, and Art-Etude Band from Yekaterinburg. These ensembles emerged from an initial pool of 28 applicants.

Mikhail Bryzgalov, president of the Russian Spiritual Society, explained that the camp fosters a professional setting for sharing expertise. The goal is to elevate performance standards and create a network for young musicians to exchange skills and experiences.

The selected orchestras will perform at the festival after weeks of training and collaboration. The initiative seeks to build a lasting foundation for young wind musicians, encouraging growth in both skill and professional connections. The event will conclude with a showcase of their progress at the national competition.
