Russia's Proposed Memorandum on Ukraine Outlines Settlement Principles and Potential Dates

Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, has revealed that Russia's draft memorandum on Ukraine will encompass crucial aspects towards resolving the conflict. These aspects include the fundamental principles for a settlement and tentative dates for reaching a peace agreement.

During a recent briefing, Zakharova announced that the memorandum will also entertain the possibility of a limited ceasefire, contingent upon relevant agreements between Russia and Ukraine. Once the memorandum is finalized, Russia plans to share it with Ukraine, hoping for a reciprocal response. However, specific settlement dates have yet to be publicly disclosed.

In preparation for the next round of talks, scheduled for Istanbul on June 2, Russia aims to present this memorandum.

Apart from developments regarding the memorandum, Zakharova expressed concerns over military preparations by Norway near the Russian border, stating that these preparations are being taken into account in Russia's planning. Additionally, a note has been sent to the Estonian Foreign Ministry, demanding justice for those responsible for desecrating a monument to the Soviet war liberator in Tallinn.

The proposed memorandum by Russia on Ukraine encompasses not only settlement principles and tentative dates but also entails the possibility of a limited ceasefire, dependent on mutual agreements between Russia and Ukraine. In the realm of general news, politics, and war-and-conflicts, the President of both nations will likely be closely involved in the discussions moving forward.
