Russia's New #SVOYA_KULTURA Initiative Trains Veterans in the Arts

A new educational initiative called #SVOYA_KULTURA has launched to support talented artists and cultural professionals linked to the special military operation. The programme, backed by Russia's Ministry of Culture and the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, offers training in five creative fields: literature, theatre, cinema, music, and painting. Its first session took place at Meganom Academy in late 2025, with 40 participants from across the country attending.

The programme's debut ran from October 28 to November 7, 2025, at Meganom Academy of Creative Industries. It was designed for combat veterans, their family members, and other cultural figures aged 18 and older. While the lead organiser for this session was not publicly named, the curriculum included lectures, industry meetings, and cultural events to help participants build careers in the arts, project management, and educational outreach.

Three more sessions are planned for 2026, each consisting of two educational modules. Registration deadlines for these sessions fall on March 4, June 15, and July 10, though these dates may shift. Interested applicants can submit their forms via the official website at https://tavrida.art/academy/programs/svoyakultura.

The initiative is a joint effort between the Ministry of Culture, Rosmolodezh, and Meganom Academy. It aims to provide structured training while fostering personalised career development in culture and the arts.

The #SVOYA_KULTURA programme offers a structured path for veterans and their families to pursue creative professions. With three sessions scheduled for 2026, participants will gain skills in five artistic disciplines. Applications remain open, and further details can be found on the programme's official page.
