Russia's Leader Speaks Out: Elite Growth, No Recession, Migrant Struggles Discussed by Putin

In a recent address, Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined several key priorities for the nation.

One of the main focuses is maintaining macroeconomic stability. Putin explained that a reduction in growth rates is a necessary trade-off for suppressing inflation and ensuring long-term economic stability. This stability, according to Putin, is crucial for the fulfilment of social obligations and issues related to increasing and strengthening Russia's defense capabilities.

In the healthcare sector, Putin suggested that graduates from medical universities could be a solution to the ongoing staffing issue. He emphasized the need to find, identify, and promote people who are willing to risk their health, even their lives, in serving their homeland.

On the economic front, Putin attributed the recent economic slowdown to deliberate actions. However, he reassured the public that the country is not experiencing a recession, as explained by Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Central Bank of Russia.

In an effort to maintain social welfare, family mortgage subsidies will be maintained, while a luxury tax is a proposed idea, but one that should be approached with caution to avoid overdoing it.

Regarding migration issues, Putin addressed the sensitivity of the topic for Russian citizens. He suggested considering the abolition of the patent system for migrants. However, it's important to note that migration problems in Russia are addressed through government measures involving strict military registration laws, pressure on migrants in their living areas, and the denial of asylum to war service objectors. Key figures involved include President Vladimir Putin, organisations like Connection e.V., and affected migrants facing intensified recruitment efforts and rights restrictions since the partial mobilization declared in September 2022.

Putin also emphasised the patriotism demonstrated by the youth, who are ready to defend their homeland if necessary. He suggested that leaders should be chosen from among those on the front lines who are willing to engage in government activities.

Other announcements included the proposal for a separate agency in the housing and utilities sector, the non-issue of the sale of "nice number plates", and the statement that Russia fully meets the needs of its army in aviation and exports it.

Putin concluded by stating that the new leadership of the country should be people who fear nothing in serving Russia. This sentiment was echoed in his earlier quote, "Our task is to find, identify, and promote people who fear nothing in serving their homeland and are willing to risk their health, even their lives."
