Improved Western Standards through Adoption: As Per Putin

Russia's Leader, Putin, Expresses Desire for Russia Not to Merely Mirror Europe's Development Strategy

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, shared views in a documentary titled "Russia. Kremlin. Putin. 25 years" that Russian Emperor Peter I aimed not to mimic European decisions but to progress on his own terms. In the Russia channel documentary, Putin highlighted that Peter I wanted to adopt Western standards in specific areas where Russia was perceived as lagging, to set up production, and create an effective management system for Russia's development.

Showing confidence, Putin added that Peter I didn't want Russia to be a carbon copy but to take the best from the West and advance further, making it better. He expanded on this idea, stating that as he understood it, Russia should adopt the best Western practices while moving forward with its unique identity.

Interestingly, this idea echoes Peter I's reign, during which he modernized Russia through Western technological and administrative methods, while maintaining political autocracy. Previously, Putin revealed during a direct line that Peter I had planned to move the capital from Moscow, considering both Taganrog and St. Petersburg.

Shifting gears, Putin also claimed that all NATO countries are actively opposing Russia. These contrasting perspectives showcase Putin's complex stance on the West, seeking advancement and cooperation while maintaining Russia's sovereignty. Incorporating elements from the West, in particular, mirrors Peter I's focus on Westernization while preserving Russia's distinct identity.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, reflected that Russian Emperor Peter I sought to improve Russia on his own terms while adopting Western standards in key areas, similar to Putin's stance in combining Western practices with Russia's unique identity. Noted during the Russia channel documentary, Peter I aimed to progress by learning from the West and setting up effective management systems. However, Putin emphasized that Russia should not mimic the West, but instead, take the best from it and move forward, maintaining its own political autonomy, especially in light of ongoing tensions with NATO countries. This complex approach to policy-and-legislation and politics, demonstrated by both leaders, often finds a voice in general news.

Improving upon Western standards through adaptation, as noted by Putin (Peter I).
