Russia’s Far East accelerates growth with 136B ruble development push

Russia’s Far Eastern Federal District is pushing ahead with major development projects under the Far Eastern Concession program. The initiative supports master plans in 25 cities, with 27 facilities currently under construction. Over 136 billion rubles have been allocated to fund these news efforts.

The program operates under the oversight of the Presidium of the Government Commission on Socioeconomic Development of the Far East. Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the region since 2013, leads the commission. Between 2022 and 2025, it approved 32 infrastructure news across 10 regions.

One of the key projects is a new year-round children’s camp near the village of Bychikha in Khabarovsk District. Once completed, it will accommodate up to 350 children at a time. Another major development is the Far Eastern Art Museum, where land grading and utility line relocation are already underway. Looking ahead to 2026, the commission plans to approve up to 10 new construction news. A regional ranking system will also be introduced to evaluate and select news more effectively. Additionally, stricter financial and construction oversight measures are set to be implemented.

The Far Eastern Concession program continues to expand, with new facilities and improved oversight on the horizon. The 136 billion ruble investment reflects the scale of development planned for the region. Further news will be reviewed and approved in the coming years.
