Russia's Digital Fear: Personal Data Leaks and Fake News Top Concerns

A recent survey in Russia has revealed a moderate level of digital fear among its respondents, with personal data leaks and fake news being the top concerns. The integral index of 'digital phobia' stands at 22 points.

The survey, conducted by an unnamed company, found that 51% of respondents are most worried about the threat of personal data leaks. This fear is fuelled by real-life experiences of fraud, such as phishing calls and database leaks. A significant 41% are also anxious about the prevalence of fake news, particularly during intense news flows.

Respondents are also concerned about the excessive data collection by commercial companies (35%) and the hacking of gadgets through networks (37%). Interestingly, residents primarily view these digital threats as personal rather than global issues.

Psychological dependence on gadgets and social networks is a major worry in the socio-economic sphere. The stable operation of the internet and digital platforms is crucial for 38% of respondents, highlighting their dependence on these services.

The survey paints a picture of a population that is moderately concerned about various digital threats, with personal data leaks and fake news being the most pressing issues. As Russia continues to embrace digital technologies, understanding and addressing these concerns will be key to fostering a safer and more secure online environment.
