In a significant operational meeting held on August 7th, 2025, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Alexei Zakharov, addressed a range of crucial issues for the prosecutor's office in the Republic of Komi.

Measures have been taken to facilitate the completion of new multi-apartment buildings in Vorkuta, Troitsko-Pechorsky, Ust-Vymsky, Kortkerossky, and Koygorodsky districts. This move is part of a principled approach to the implementation of the targeted program for resettling citizens from dilapidated housing.
In the area of labor rights, over 800 workers have had their rights restored, with debts totaling over 61 million rubles paid out. Work to align legal acts in this area with the requirements of labor legislation has continued.
Close attention has been paid to issues of ensuring legality and protecting the rights of participants in the SVO (Special Military Operation) and their families. Instances of unjustified cessation of payments to family members of SVO participants and illegal refusals to provide regional payments to family members of deceased SVO participants have been identified. At the initiative of prosecutors, over 50 local acts of employers have been amended regarding labor and social guarantees for participants and family members of SVO participants.
The prosecutor's offices in the Republic of Komi identified over 18,000 violations of the law in the first half of 2025. Almost 2,000 individuals were held accountable through disciplinary and administrative measures.
Alexei Zakharov stressed the need for prosecutorial assessment of the condition of social facilities (schools, kindergartens, hospitals, clinics, and boarding schools), as well as strengthening oversight in housing and utilities, healthcare, national projects, and crime prevention.
In a notable achievement, the prosecutor of Kortkerossky District successfully enforced, through judicial means, the obligation of the social protection authority to provide a one-time payment of 2 million rubles to a family member of a deceased SVO participant.
Measures have also been implemented to reduce the debt of lessees for the use of forests by over 30 million rubles. Additionally, consumer debt for energy resources amounting to 88 million rubles was settled due to the prosecutors' intervention.
Public clients settled a debt of 41 million rubles to entrepreneurs, while 54 criminal cases were opened based on prosecutors' materials. Furthermore, over 280 regional legal acts and more than 2,200 projects developed at the municipal level were reviewed in the project phase.
Five officials from state and local authorities were removed from office due to loss of trust following prosecutors' demands. All comments were taken into account, and the adoption of illegal projects was prevented.
The meeting concluded with the determination of tasks and a set of measures aimed at further enhancing the effectiveness of prosecutorial oversight in the republic. These developments underscore the commitment of the prosecutor's office in the Republic of Komi to upholding the law, protecting citizens' rights, and ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
