Russia's Creative Economy Gains Global Spotlight at International Conference
The International Conference on Creative Economy and the 'Creative Code. Russia' forum are set to discuss the growth of Russia's creative economy and its integration into the global market. The event, organized by several key bodies, will bring together over 1500 participants from around 30 countries.
The conference comes at a time when Russia's creative sector is gaining traction. Currently, 3.4 million people are employed in the creative economy, with 700,000 entrepreneurs operating in the sector. These industries, spanning 16 sectors from folk arts to media, contribute 4.1% to Russia's GDP.
The government aims to boost this contribution to 6% by 2030. One ruble spent in the creative sector increases federal budget revenues by 0.25 rubles, highlighting its economic potential. Russia's approach to international communication, advocating for the 'philosophy of complexity' and classical diplomacy, is also expected to be discussed.
The role of regions in the creative economy is emphasized, with each region encouraged to preserve and develop its unique cultural identity. Globally, 25 countries have implemented programs to develop their creative economies, demonstrating the sector's international significance.
The conference, held under the Law 'On the Development of Creative Industries in the Russian Federation' adopted on August 8, 2024, signals Russia's commitment to fostering its creative economy. With a focus on innovation, economic growth, and cultural preservation, the event is set to spark meaningful dialogue and collaboration among attendees.
