Russia's Crackdown: 20 Arrested in Krasnodar Immigration Sweep
Russian authorities have stepped up enforcement against immigration violations in the Krasnodar region. Over 100 foreigners were checked, leading to 20 arrests for violating Russian law.
The crackdown began with the discovery of illegal immigrants at a construction site in Anapa. Police found six migrants who were to be deported for overstaying their welcome. Meanwhile, 11 migrants were fined for working illegally, while nine others were penalised for not adhering to legal restrictions.
Employers of these offenders may face criminal charges. In August alone, 72 foreigners were deported from the region, indicating a growing effort to enforce immigration rules.
The increased enforcement highlights Russia's commitment to maintaining immigration control. Employers are warned to ensure their workers comply with legal requirements to avoid potential criminal charges.
