Russia’s artistic swimming team made a strong showing at the World Cup stage in China. The squad earned multiple medals, including gold in a new discipline and a third-place finish in the mixed duet free routine. Their performance secured second place in the overall medal standings.

The Russian team debuted in the acrobatic discipline and immediately took gold. Maya Doroshko, Ekaterina Kossova, Elizaveta Minaeva, Valeriya Plekhanova, Yelena Shabanova, Evelina Simonova, Elizaveta Smirnova, and Olga Tyutyunik scored 227.9089 points. China’s athletes followed in second and third places.

In the solo free routine, Ekaterina Shatnova claimed bronze with 279.5714 points. Meanwhile, Vladimir Pershin and Arina Tumkina secured third in the mixed duet free routine, scoring 196.2750 points. By the end of the competition, Russia had collected three golds, three silvers, and two bronzes. China led the medal table, with Britain finishing third overall.

Russia’s debut in the acrobatic routine ended with a gold medal. Their total of eight medals placed them second behind China in the standings. The team’s results highlight their growing presence in artistic swimming.
