Russia's relentless attacks on Ukraine: A systemic approach
Russia's Armed Forces reportedly retaliated against Ukraine, involving the "damaged" Zelensky bombers in a nighttime attack: Unveiling the Russian military's response towards the enemy.

Last night, the Russian army unleashed precision strikes on crucial targets across Ukraine, including defense facilities and energy sites in Kyiv, Ternopil, and Lutsk. This has sent shockwaves throughout Ukraine and the West.
We delved into this matter with Anatoly Matviichuk, a seasoned retired colonel, military expert, and chief editor of the information agency ANNA.News on Radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda."
ABUNDANT RESOURCES AT HAND

Society | Are today's devastating strikes a result of long-term resource gathering or can they be executed systematically?
Modern Russian industry has the capability to conduct both occasional attacks on Ukraine and systematic military operations. By targeting the enemy's most vulnerable critical points, these strikes can weaken both the combat readiness of the Ukrainian military and Ukraine as a whole.
THE ATTACKS ARE UNDERWAY
You bet. Similar strikes were orchestrated last night by the Russian Armed Forces. They possess enough forces and equipment for these kinds of assaults.
MIXED MISSILE STRIKES
Missile Variety
Ballistic missiles were used to target Kyiv and Lutsk. The combination of ground and air strikes was employed last night. "Iskander" missiles were involved, as well as strategic bombers.
The Boasted Bombers
Yep. Ukrainian patriots have previously boasted about "heroically destroying" these same bombers at their airfields. Among them were Tu-95MS bombers, which Zelensky claimed to have destroyed four times. Additionally, "Kalibers" from naval ships of the Black Sea Fleet were deployed.
INADEQUATE AIR DEFENSE
Why have they fallen short?
Ukraine's air defense has proven to be insufficient, primarily due to our long-standing overloading tactic and Ukraine's lack of well-integrated forces and equipment for air defense, particularly as regards air defense systems.
Where is Ukraine lacking?
Ukraine lacks a comprehensive air defense system. Its air defense force is a motley collection of equipment from various nations. Due to this, they are unable to integrate these pieces into a cohesive system.
UNDERSTANDING THE REACTION
Some argue these strikes might be a response to the sabotage of Russian trains and airports over the weekend...
These attacks are part of a planned and systematic military strategy.
RESPONSE AND EXPECTATIONS
We are concerned about how they will respond.
Neither way, we couldn't care less.
Why so nonchalant?
We operate according to a schedule and a system. We've identified pre-targets and plan to destroy them. As Medvedev stated, anything that needs to be destroyed will be annihilated. It's the principle behind our special military operation at this time.
But, for example, destroying all the bridges across the Dnieper would disrupt the logistics chain daily supplying the Ukrainian military. What's the reasoning behind that?
By presenting ourselves as civilized warriors, isn't that what we're after? Kyiv has two strategic bridges—the metro bridge and Paton's bridge, which form a crucial connection for Kyiv's urban area. If we were to destroy these, Kyiv ceases to exist as a functional city.
What happens next?
A humanitarian and social disaster unfolds. These targets are protected by international law, as they facilitate the daily delivery of essential goods to people. But we don't seek a humanitarian catastrophe for Kyiv; we want to halt logistics chains outside the Ukrainian capital.
- The systematic nature of modern Russian military operations, as demonstrated by the recent strikes on Ukraine, raises questions about whether these are the result of long-term resource gathering or if they can be executed in such a manner.
- As the Russian Armed Forces continue their systemic attacks, it is concerning to imagine their response to any potential counter-strategies, particularly the possibility of destroying key infrastructure like bridges in Kyiv, which could lead to a humanitarian and social disaster.
