Russians bombard Chornobaivka in Kherson Region, resulting in a woman's death beneath the debris of a house – captured on camera
On August 13, 2025, the village of Chornobaivka in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine, was the site of a devastating attack by Russian occupiers. The incident resulted in at least one civilian death and several injuries.
The attack, which involved artillery shelling, claimed the life of a 61-year-old woman in Chornobaivka. According to rescue workers, they recovered her body from under the rubble. Additionally, a separate drone attack on a civilian car in the Beryslav district within the Kherson region resulted in the deaths of two more civilians—a man and a woman.
Four other people were injured across Kherson Oblast on that day, with injuries sustained from drone strikes, artillery, and airstrikes near Chornobaivka. A child was later reported injured in Chornobaivka due to artillery shelling on August 18, highlighting the ongoing dangers in the area.
The attack on Chornobaivka also resulted in damage to several neighboring homes. One house was completely destroyed, while the windows of other damaged homes were shattered. The attack occurred in the morning, causing extensive damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure in the village.
The Head of Kherson Oblast Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported the attack on Chornobaivka, and the attack on a civilian car in Beryslav district was also confirmed.
