Russian singer Andrei Zabrodsky dies at 72 after The Voice 60 fame
Russian singer Andrei Zabrodsky has passed away at the age of 72. His farewell ceremony will take place on January 11 in Novosibirsk. Friends and fans have been asked to bring fresh flowers to honour his memory.
Zabrodsky gained recognition after appearing on The Voice 60 in 2021, where he performed the classic song You or Me by Mashina Vremeni.
Before his musical career, Zabrodsky worked in various jobs, including as a labourer, a civil aviation pilot, and a transport shop supervisor. His talent later led him to join Oleg Gazmanov’s team on The Voice 60, where he impressed judges Valery Leontiev, Stas Namin, and singer Laima Vaikule.
The ceremony will be held at the Novosibirsk Crematorium from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on January 11. Details about the organisers remain unconfirmed, as the event follows his recent passing on January 9.
Meanwhile, in unrelated news, Sean Swayze, brother of actor Patrick Swayze, has also died at the age of 63.
Zabrodsky’s farewell will provide an opportunity for mourners to pay their respects. The ceremony’s timing and location have been set, though further public details may emerge later. His contributions to music and his journey from labourer to performer will be remembered by those who knew him.
