Mediatin' Putin: Assisting in the Iran-US Nuclear Dust-Up
Russian President, Vladimir Putin, expresses interest in mediating the nuclear standoff between Iran and the United States.
In a casual chat with DJT, Putin's announced his willingness to play peacekeeper in the heated Iran-US nuclear row. It seems our Russian compadre has some inside info on what's cookin' with the Iranian atomic program after chatting with ol' Trump himself.
The Kremlin's spokesther Peskov, in a rare and honest moment, shared that Putin intends to use the tight bond Russia shares with the Iranian lads to help sort out this atomic mess. The folks at the White House seem to think the Iranians are dilly-dallying on a sweet new nuclear deal proposal from the Yanks, and Putin reckons he can help speed things up.
This ain't the first dance between the USA and Iran – talks have been going on since April, aiming to replace the 2018 international nuclear deal that Trump abandoned – yep, you read that right, the guy abandoned a global deal. The duo's already had five rounds of negotiation, and Trump's hopeful Putin's intervention will help 'em finish this round.
But wait, there's more! In an abrupt statement this week, Trump used his bullhorn to warn Iran that the States won't tolerate any nuclear hooplah. Tehran, of course, clings to its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes...you know, to keep the lights on and all that jazz. The Kremlin, however, stressed that Iran's entitled to a peaceful nuclear program to generate energy.
Despite Iran's top fellow, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claiming the Yanks have no say in Iran's nuclear business, Russia's helping 'em out with the military thing now that Putty has invaded Ukraine. Goodness knows what's next!
So, buckle up, folks, because the Iranian nuclear saga is just getting started.
