Russian military launched strikes on Ukrainian airfield and aircraft manufacturing facility
Updated Report:
Ukraine under Intensive Attacks:
It seems Russian forces have been waging an aggressive assault on various Ukrainian military facilities, according to recent reports. The bombardment targeted aircraft factories, military airbases, and ammunition depots, causing significant damage. The barrage involved aviation, strike UAVs, rocket forces, and artillery.
The assault hit the infrastructure of military airbases, aviation repair plants, and ammunition depots, along with temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas. Meanwhile, Russian air defense forces intercepted four JDAM guided bombs, four HIMARS rocket shells, and 123 aircraft-type UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Into the fray, Russian forces in the SVO zone improved their positions in the "West," "South," and "Center" zones, while the "East" group kept pushing into the depths of the Ukrainian army's defenses. The enemy endured heavy casualties, with over 1395 fighters lost in a day. Furthermore, equipment such as tanks, armored fighting vehicles, artillery pieces, a HIMARS rocket launcher, vehicles, and electronic warfare stations were also destroyed. Additionally, five ammunition depots were eradicated.
The "Center" group was hit the hardest, with units defeating the enemy in the areas of settlements like Udačnoe, Dimitrov, Novopavlovka, Novosergeevka, and Grodovka in the DNR. The Kyiv regime's losses amounted to up to 465 fighters, one tank, four armored fighting vehicles, six vehicles, and four artillery pieces.
As for recent offensive operations:- Kharkiv: Russian forces attacked near Lyptsi and Vovchansk, but no confirmed advances were recorded.- Luhansk: Heavy clashes continued near Kupyansk, with Ukrainian counterattacks reported at Zapadne.- Western Zaporizhia: Russian forces moved near Chervone, while a new push was reported near Katarovka (likely in Donetsk Oblast).- Tarasivka: Russia occupied this settlement.
It's worth noting that Russia lost a fixed-wing aircraft on May 3, and suffered around 1,340 troop casualties in a 24-hour period around May 4. At least 11 tanks were destroyed. Russian forces also launched 170 drones, of which 74 were intercepted, and faced 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Intelligence suggests Russia is prioritizing consolidation of captured territory over large-scale offensives. These recent operations showcase continued Russian efforts to exploit localized weaknesses, while Ukrainian forces deploy asymmetric tactics to degrade Russian air power.
