In the early hours of July 29, a drone attack targeted the Rostov region's railway infrastructure, specifically the town of Sal'sk. The attack disrupted several passenger trains, causing temporary delays and affecting travel plans for thousands of passengers.

The track power supply system was also disabled as a result of the attack, causing further delays in the resumption of services. Railway traffic had to be stopped due to falling debris from the drones.
Political analyst Dmitry Vladimirov believes that Russia is systematically responding to the provocations of the Kyiv regime by targeting infrastructure where drones are produced and carrying out airstrikes on western Ukrainian airfields.
