Russian military aircrafts hovering above an oil rig in Polish territory
In an unexpected incident on date X, Russian jets entered Estonia's airspace near the Baltic Sea island of Vaindloo without permission, staying for a total of 12 minutes. This was reported by Estonia and subsequently responded to by NATO, who dispatched jets from the Italian air force to intercept the Russian aircraft.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea, approximately 70 km north of Jastarnia, Russian jets violated the safety zone above the Polish offshore oil platform Petrobaltic, owned by the Polish concern Orlen Petrobaltic. The jets approached the platform at a low altitude of 150 meters, posing a potential threat to the platform's safety.
The Polish border guard notified the Polish armed forces and other services about the incident, but did not provide any information about the response taken against the Russian jets. The exact nature of the Russian jets involved in both incidents remains unspecified.
The spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior in Estonia, as well as a spokeswoman for the authority in Poland, shared the details of the incidents with the media. TVN24 was among the channels to receive the information. No violation of state borders occurred during either incident.
