In the Polish economic zone of the Baltic Sea, approximately 70 km north of Jastarnia, an incident occurred that has sparked concerns and increased security measures. The Polish drilling platform involved in the incident, owned by Orlen Petrobaltic, reportedly had its security zone violated, according to border guards.

The Polish armed forces and other services were promptly notified of the incident. The video from Glomex, a supplement to the editorial text, requires user consent for display. The Russian Air Force units were reported near the Polish Orlen Petrobaltic oil platform on a specific date. This proximity led to Estonian border guard and military authorities reporting the incident, which in turn prompted the Polish armed forces to increase aerial surveillance and deploy additional air defense systems in the region.

Two Russian fighter jets approached the Polish drilling platform at low altitude, and the Russian fighter aircraft flew over the Petrobaltic drilling platform at an altitude of 150 meters. This aggressive behaviour was not limited to the Polish economic zone, as Estonia reported a previous violation of its airspace by Russia.

NATO immediately reacted to the Estonian airspace violation. Fighter jets of the Italian air force were dispatched to intercept the Russian aircraft. Three MiG-31 fighter jets entered Estonia's airspace without permission near the Baltic Sea island of Vaindloo.

Despite these incidents, it is important to clarify that there was no violation of the state border, according to a spokeswoman for the authority. Data collection may occur in countries outside the EU with a lower level of data protection, as the video from Glomex is managed by glomex GmbH.

This series of events serves as a reminder of the ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region and the importance of international cooperation and adherence to established rules and boundaries.
