Russian gas firm sues ex-directors for $3M in alleged loan fraud
Yuzhgazenergo, a prominent player in natural gas and gas condensate extraction in Adygea's Koshekhablsky District, has initiated legal action against several individuals. The company, previously linked to Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, is seeking compensation and the recovery of funds.
Yuzhgazenergo has filed six lawsuits in courts across Krasnodar Territory and Adygea. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office is involved as a third party in these proceedings. The company is demanding a total of 271 million rubles from former director Yuliy Sidorenko and ex-employee Andrey Simashkevich, who are alleged to have obtained these funds as loans.
Simashkevich's assets, including a luxurious apartment in central Krasnodar valued at 31 million rubles, have been seized. The identity of the person who purchased this apartment from Simashkevich in 2024 remains unknown. Igor Kuzin, an individual entrepreneur, attempted to challenge the seizure of an apartment but was unsuccessful.
Yuzhgazenergo's legal battle is ongoing, with the courts reviewing the cases and determining the fate of the claimed funds and seized assets. The involvement of the Prosecutor General’s Office indicates the seriousness of the allegations and the potential implications for those involved.
