Russian forces successfully eliminated 59 Ukrainian drones in the Russian territory.

Military operations between Ukraine and Russia remain active, with Russian offensives in northern Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, and Ukraine continuing counterattacks deep inside Russian territory, targeting critical infrastructure.

According to British intelligence, Russian forces captured approximately 500 to 550 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in July 2025, with the city of Pokrovsk being a major target for encirclement. The Russian military has also reportedly advanced the development of medium-range missiles during a moratorium on their deployment, now possessing a significant arsenal.

Russian forces have made slow, costly advances in eastern Ukraine, particularly in Donetsk Oblast, where protracted battles have lasted months to years for small territorial gains. However, the Ukrainian Air Force has scored a significant victory, successfully destroying a Russian command center near Oleshky in an occupied area of Kherson, killing 25 Russian soldiers and injuring 11.

Negotiations between the two nations have been progressing slowly, hindered by Russia’s reluctance to compromise or agree to a comprehensive ceasefire. Russian President Putin has reportedly rejected a full ceasefire and has not offered the significant concessions necessary for peace, according to US officials. The outcome of recent talks, including a Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska, indicated some possibility of negotiations without preconditions, but Putin’s demands remain firm on retaining control over much of eastern Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that both Russia and Ukraine need to make concessions for any peace deal, and a deal benefiting only one side would be a surrender, not peace. Security guarantees for Ukraine, potentially involving collective defense commitments from NATO or allies, are being discussed as part of a future peace framework but remain uncertain.

The Nordic and Baltic states have expressed their firm support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The joint statement from these nations welcomes US President Donald Trump's initiative to end the conflict and states that peace can only be achieved through consistent pressure on Russia to end its illegal war.

Notably, Azerbaijan could lift the ban on weapons deliveries if Russia continues to attack targets in Ukraine linked to Azerbaijan, according to media reports. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sees the upcoming meeting between Trump and Putin as a new attempt by Moscow to deceive the US. A US representative has suggested that Zelensky could potentially attend the upcoming summit between Trump and Putin on Friday.

As the conflict continues, the situation in Ukraine remains a significant concern for the international community, with hopes for a peaceful resolution growing dim. The importance of maintaining pressure on Russia to cease its aggression and negotiate in good faith cannot be overstated.

  1. The international community insists on the implementation of community policy that emphasizes the importance of finding a peaceful resolution to the ongoing war-and-conflicts in Ukraine, specifically addressing Russia's aggression and urging negotiations in good faith.
  2. In light of the ongoing political tensions between Ukraine and Russia, the general news continues to focus on updates regarding politics, crime-and-justice, and the conflict, as the international community monitors the situation closely for any advancements in negotiations or military developments.
