Russian Defeat Strikes Back: Kyiv Delivers Devastating Blow - Akin to Russia's Pearl Harbor

In a bold move, Ukraine launched an audacious drone assault on numerous Russian airbases, significantly denting Vladimir Putin's security. This operation, likened by pro-Kremlin bloggers to "Russia's Pearl Harbor," left more than 40 Russian warplanes in ruins.

Dubbed 'Spider's Web,' this mission was the culmination of a 1.5-year planning process. In this period, Ukraine's secret service managed to smuggle small, first-person view (FPV) drones into Russia and within Russia's borders, concealed within mobile sheds. These sheds were then built on Russian soil, with drones hidden inside, waiting to be launched off the back of trucks.

At a predetermined moment, the doors of these huts were opened remotely, allowing the drones to fly out and head towards their targets. Each drone was armed with a bomb, which was detonated upon reaching the airfields, causing substantial damage to Russian aircraft. Among the targeted aircraft were Tu-95 and Tu-22 bombers, capable of launching cruise missiles, and an A-50 airborne early warning aircraft, a valuable platform used for command and control operations.

The use of such simple technology to destroy multi-million-pound aircraft will undoubtedly raise concerns among global governments. Suddenly, every military base, airfield, and warship could appear more vulnerable if any nearby truck could be loaded with killer drones.

The immediate focus now is on how Putin responds. Previous Ukrainian attacks within Russia have prompted retaliatory strikes and increasingly aggressive rhetoric from the Kremlin. However, this latest operation is one of the largest and most significant, occurring on the eve of a new round of peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv that were set to take place in Turkey. The outcome of these talks remains uncertain.

Meanwhile, the US President has been pushing for peace between the two nations. However, Russia has shown no signs of backing down from its war, leading Ukraine to take matters into its own hands.
