The ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict continues to unfold with increased intensity, as both nations engage in military operations and seek international support.

In a significant development, Russia launched a massive drone and missile strike on Ukraine during the night of July 11-12. The attack involved over 500 drones and 26 Kh-101 cruise missiles, originating from multiple directions, including Bryansk, Kursk, and Rostov regions. Despite Ukraine's robust air defenses, critical infrastructure in several oblasts, including Kyiv and Kharkiv, sustained damage, resulting in civilian casualties, with two deaths reported in Chernivtsi City.

Ukraine reported gains in its counterintelligence efforts, neutralizing two individuals linked to the assassination of a Ukrainian secret service officer, suspected of operating for Russia.

In response to these escalating attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for increased Western support, particularly for air defense systems and interceptor drones. The need for US-provided Patriot missile systems was specifically emphasized. Poland has also heightened its air defense readiness and scrambled fighter jets to protect its airspace.

Meanwhile, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited North Korea, reaffirming their alliance. Ukrainian intelligence suggests that North Korea may send 25,000 to 30,000 troops to assist Russia in Ukraine, marking a notable shift in international alignment surrounding the conflict.

Ukraine and the US have restored military aid shipments, with ongoing cooperation at the military level. Zelenskyy indicated expectations for stronger sanctions against Russia from the US and its allies. Western countries are supplying Ukraine with advanced air defense systems and interceptor drones to counter Russia's escalating drone and missile campaign.

Notably, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has ruled out the delivery of German Patriot systems to Ukraine. Pistorius is currently traveling to Washington for a two-day visit.

The European Union is reportedly close to agreeing on a new sanctions package against Russia, including a lower price cap for Russian oil. The sanctions are intended to further cripple Russia's economy and weaken its military capabilities.

In a surprising statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would do everything to shift the war "onto the territory of Russia." This statement reflects the growing resolve of Ukraine and its Western allies to counter Russia's aggression.

The conflict remains highly active, with Russia aiming to degrade Ukrainian morale and infrastructure, while Ukraine and its Western allies respond by enhancing defensive capabilities and pushing for stronger sanctions and international political support. The emerging military support from North Korea for Russia adds a new dimension to the complex geopolitical landscape of the conflict.
