Russia turns to online marketplaces to revolutionize school procurement
Russia's education system, home to 39,000 schools and 14 million children, is exploring online marketplaces to streamline procurement processes. The move aims to tackle challenges like varied equipment quality and small delivery refusals by suppliers.
Traditionally, remote schools face hurdles in receiving supplies due to commercial suppliers' reluctance to handle small deliveries. Online marketplaces, however, offer pickup points, benefiting these schools significantly.
To comply with Federal Law 44-FZ, platforms must undergo specialized adaptations for government procurement. Tech giants like Wildberries & Russ have stepped in, ready to partner in the B2G sector. They ensure product quality and transparency, addressing concerns about resource shortages and equipment disparities across schools.
In Moscow, an average of seven bidders compete for each contract on the supplier portal. The Ryazan Region's successful experience with online marketplaces for school procurements has encouraged this shift. The process, from start to finish, takes only three to six days, expediting the procurement timeline.
With Wildberries & Russ leading the way, online marketplaces are transforming school procurement in Russia. By ensuring quality, transparency, and swift delivery, these platforms aim to eliminate resource shortages and equipment disparities, ultimately benefiting the 14 million children in the Russian education system.
