Breaking News:

Ukraine has made a bold move, launching a drone attack on Russia that has left millions stunned. According to a top Ukrainian security official, speaking anonymously, over 40 Russian planes have been destroyed deep in Russia's territory. This operation, personally supervised by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, unfolded over 1.5 years.

The attack saw drones transported in containers carried by trucks, moving deep into Russian territory, hitting 41 planes stationed at several airfields. The targeted aircraft included A-50, Tu-95, and Tu-22M aircraft, reportedly responsible for coordinating targets, detecting air defenses, and guiding missiles.

Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed the attacks, which hit five airfields, and reported damages to aircraft and fires on air bases in the Irkutsk region, over 4,000 kilometers from Ukraine. However, they claimed successful defense against the strikes in the Amur region in Russia's Far East and the western regions of Ivanovo and Ryazan.

The attacks come just before another round of direct talks scheduled in Istanbul on Monday, with Ukraine's President Zelenskyy planning to send a delegation led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Despite the escalation, Zelenskyy remains committed to protecting Ukraine's independence.

Mixed Messages:

Russia responded to Ukraine with the biggest number of drones - 472 - since the full-scale invasion in February 2022. This barrage of drones accompanied seven missiles, injuring at least 72 Ukrainian service members and causing the resignation of the army commander responsible for the training unit that was attacked.

Meanwhile, Russian forces made steady gains in the northern Sumy region, where authorities ordered mandatory evacuations in 11 more settlements. These developments highlight the ongoing tension between the two nations.
