Russia Launches 'Family Zarnitsa' Military-Tactical Games for Teams Nationwide
Our website, April 24 – Residents of Kolyma have one last chance to join a major national initiative: applications for the All-Russian "Family Zarnitsa" Games will be accepted through April 24 [via the link]. The event welcomes family teams of four—two adults of different genders and two children aged 11 or older. The key requirement is that the adults must be members of the same family, with at least one serving as a parent or legal guardian to a minor participant.
This is more than just a competition—it's an opportunity to face challenges side by side, showcase your strengths, share your family traditions with the entire country, and represent your region at the national stage. "Family Zarnitsa" proves that the strongest team starts at home.
One of the highlights will be a quest-style challenge, where families must navigate through various stations, tackle intellectual and physical tasks, and collect pieces of a key that unlocks the final trial. The military-tactical field exercise will put teamwork to the test, demanding quick decision-making, clear role assignments, and seamless coordination. With laser tag gear and simulation equipment, participants will immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a real mission.
Families will also compete in a creative contest, judged separately, where they'll design models of military equipment—from concept and blueprint to a finished prototype—showcasing both ingenuity and resourcefulness.
The competition unfolds in stages: municipal, zonal, regional, and the grand finale. After the regional round, each family team will be paired with a mentor—a veteran of special military operations.
The project is organized by the "Defenders of the Fatherland" Foundation, with support from Russia's Ministry of Defense and the "Movement of the First" youth organization. The initiative was previously endorsed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
