Strikes Escalate: Ukraine Attacks Russian Airbases - Breaching Bomber Bases?

In the latest escalation of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine's forces have carried out nighttime attacks on Russian territory. Reports suggest that critical infrastructure and even military airbases have been targeted, according to Ukrainian accounts.
Simultaneously, Russia has been subjected to intense drone attacks, with hundreds of drones reportedly intercepted over various regions, including Bryansk, Rostov, Saratov, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Rяazan, Tula, Belgorod, Tambov, and the Crimean peninsula. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported three Neptune-MD guided missiles destroyed over the Black Sea.
One significant hit occurred in Engels, a city in the Saratov region, where a high-rise was struck, causing a fire at an industrial facility, suspected to be a refinery. Engels also houses a major Russian air force base that frequently deploys aircraft over Ukraine. There was also a reported hit near a military airport in the Bryansk region.
Recent strikes have also targeted specific Russian military airbases, with Ukrainian forces allegedly causing significant damage. The Engels airbase in the southern Russian region of Saratov, known for hosting numerous enemy aircraft, was reported as "successfully" attacked. The Dyagilevo airbase in the Ryazan region, south of Moscow, was also hit, hosting air refueling and escort aircraft used by Russia for attacks on Ukrainian territory.
Russian officials reported injuries in the Tambov region, while the Belgorod border region experienced an attack on the railway, temporarily causing a derailment. Recent days have seen numerous attacks on railway infrastructure, resulting in several casualties and damages.
