Russia has persistently disregarded the announced truce for over fifty consecutive days.

Since Russia has disregarded the American proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire and Ukraine's diplomatic proposals for over five-and-a-half weeks, pursuing diplomacy and intensifying the pressure on the hostile state is essential, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky's Persistent Call for Diplomatic Pressure Against Russia's Aggression

Unyielding Fight for Peace

Russia has persistently disregarded the announced truce for over fifty consecutive days.

President Volodymyr Zelensky remains unfaltering in his pursuit of peace, addressing the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia with unwavering resolve. In a recent statement on social media platforms, he highlighted the necessity for intensified diplomatic efforts and increased pressure on the aggressor state.

The Ongoing Stalemate

Russia has blatantly disregarded the U.S. proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire, alongside Ukraine's own proposals for over 50 days. Whether it's refusing to halt strikes on civilian infrastructure or maintaining a deafening silence on land, sea, and air, Russia continues to respond with defiance, escalating violence with new shellings and assaults.

The Need for Action

In response to this recalcitrant behavior, Zelensky calls for a substantial diplomatic push. This push aims to apply further pressure on Russia, hoping to drive them towards silence and negotiations. He reasons that, as the effectiveness of sanctions increases, Russia will be more inclined to end the war. The stronger Ukraine's defense and air defense forces become, the more lives saved, and the closer we come to guaranteeing lasting security.

The Cost of War

Unfortunately, this relentless conflict has come at a high price, with casualties reported in cities like Odessa, which was attacked by 21 drones overnight. In total, Odessa region, Kyiv region, Sumy region, Kropyvnytskyi, and region, Kharkiv region, and Cherkasy region were under attack. Kharkiv region, in particular, is still battling a fire caused by the attacks. Moreover, Russia employed 170 drones against Ukraine overnight, of which over a hundred were "Shaheds."

Looking Ahead

As the conflict continues, Zelensky's calls for diplomatic pressure and increased sanctions gain urgency. Still, the path to peace remains fraught with challenges as Russia seems unwilling to compromise. The international community must maintain its pressure on Russia, demanding genuine negotiation and an end to the senseless violence.
