Russia Extends Gasoline Export Ban Until 2025 Amidst Ukrainian Attacks

Russia has extended its gasoline export ban until the end of 2025, impacting countries worldwide. The move follows recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries, which have caused fuel shortages and threatened domestic supply stability.

The ban, initially imposed on diesel, marine fuel, and other gas oils, now includes gasoline. It applies to all exporters, including producers, and targets non-producing resellers. This means countries outside Russia will be affected, as the restriction does not cover direct producers.

In Sevastopol, gasoline sales have been restricted to 30 liters per vehicle or container due to panic and hoarding. Mayor Michael Razvozhayev confirmed sufficient gasoline supplies but acknowledged challenges faced by gas stations. The Russian government aims to maintain a stable domestic fuel market through this measure.

The extended export ban on gasoline, diesel, and other gas oils will impact global markets. Russia seeks to ensure domestic fuel stability amid shortages caused by recent attacks on refineries. The ban will remain in place until December 31, 2025, with exemptions only for intergovernmental agreements.
