Russia experienced a nocturnal drone catastrophe, as approximately 170 drones were annihilated.
In a night punctuated by high-stakes action, Russian Air Defense Forces reportedly thwarted an impressive 170 attempted drone incursions across six of its regions.
According to the Ministry of Defense, more than half of these drones were either neutralized or destroyed over Crimea, totaling 96. The Krasnodar Krai followed closely with 47 intercepted drones. Nine drones were also brought down in the Rostov region, eight over the Bryansk and Kursk regions, and two in the Belgorod region.
Over the Black Sea, eight Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles and three Ukrainian Neptune-MD guided missiles were also brought down. The Black Sea Fleet's on-duty fire systems destroyed 14 Ukrainian unmanned boats in the water area.
City Under Siege: Novorossiysk
The city of Novorossiysk was a central battleground, with the Ukrainian Armed Forces launching attacks on critical infrastructure throughout the night. The Mayor, Andrei Kravchenko, reported these attacks, emphasizing that the military managed to repel them. Unfortunately, the city's civilian population took a hit, with four people injured, including two children, and three multi-story residential buildings and three grain terminal reservoirs damaged as a result of the drone strike.
Rostov Region under Fire
In the Rostov region, several populated areas were targeted by Ukrainian drones. The acting governor, Yuri Slyusar, reported that drones were shot down in Novoshakhtinsk, Kamensk, Oktyabrsky, Ust-Doneck, and Tselinny districts. In a particularly alarming incident, falling drone debris caused a house fire in the village of Tselina, resulting in the evacuation of two adults and three children. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
Bryansk Region Unscathed
Despite the relentless barrage of attacks, the governor of Bryansk, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed that there were no casualties or damage resulting from repelling the Ukrainian air attack in the region.
As tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue to escalate, these incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking on the front lines.

Enrichment Data:In recent instances, there have been escalating exchanges between Ukraine and Russia involving drones and air defense systems. A precision drone strike targeted a Russian military intelligence site in the village of Moskovskoye, Stavropol Krai, known as the Zvezda facility, which forms part of Russia’s space electronic reconnaissance system. There were no reported casualties or infrastructure damage. In a separate incident near Novorossiysk, a Ukrainian sea drone attack downed a Russian Su-30 combat jet. The crew managed to eject safely and was rescued by a civilian cargo ship.
Ukrainian forces have demonstrated increased capabilities in targeting Russian military assets, both on land and at sea, using drones. In Kharkiv, a Russian drone attack resulted in 47 casualties, but Ukraine's defenses intercepted 77 out of 183 drones and decoys launched by Russia. On the other hand, Russian forces have continued to launch drone attacks on Ukrainian cities, leading to civilian casualties and damage.
Ukrainian drones have also been instrumental in exposing vulnerabilities in the S-300V air defense system during operations in Crimea, while Ukrainian forces successfully destroyed a valuable Russian Buk-M3 air defense system.
